The United States police-rank model is generally quasi-military in structure. A uniform system of insignia based on that of the US Army and Marine Corps is used to help identify an officer’s rank. Rank structure vary from federal, state, county and local police departments. Presently, the highest ranked sworn officer in Medford would be Chief of Police.
From our research, Chief Nelson Peake was Medford Township’s first recognized Chief of Police in 1910.
